Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, biological science or military equivalent
  • 1 year of computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Windows-based networking) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Minimum 5 years of troubleshooting skills and ability to use documentation for troubleshooting
  • Local travel required daily; ability to travel overnight 40-50% of the time
  • Territory coverage: all New England, upstate New York (high concentration in Boston area)
  • Valid passport or equivalent for travel into Europe
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Record (implied by travel requirements)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer satisfaction in all aspects of the job
  • Increase throughput and decrease downtime for customer systems
  • Perform regular Preventive Maintenance
  • Conduct regular upgrades as deemed by Leica Microsystems technical staff
  • Act as a clear advocate for the customer (internal and external) and a steward for the company
  • Report to the District Service Manager within the Life Sciences Service Organization
  • Work remotely to cover assigned territory
