Responsibilities

  • Manages assigned account base of wealth management clients by working with client service team, clients, and their professional advisors to develop understanding of client needs and goals; provides focused client service with responsiveness, diplomacy, tact, and proactive contact
  • Leads client conversations for Goals Driven Wealth Management and provides proactive advice on Northern Trust products/services, emerging issues, regulatory/tax changes, and appropriate actions
  • Builds and maintains knowledge of Northern Trust fiduciary standards and practices; applies fiduciary knowledge and judgment to relationships; recognizes fiduciary risk issues and seeks resolution
  • Provides regional oversight of all fiduciary, compliance, and risk-related matters, including monitoring and resolution; available for consultation on trust administration, risk management, compliance, and GDWM implementation; involves trust counsel, Regional CFO, and Advisory Practice Leader as appropriate
  • Supports implementation of national initiatives and programs; lends advisory expertise to business development opportunities
  • Participates in hiring process for relationship advisors; provides feedback for annual reviews and compensation discussions based on subject matter expertise and fiduciary practices; assists in development plan design and implementation
  • Participates as requested on fiduciary oversight committees, including account acceptance and discretionary actions
  • Liaises with the business to reduce risk and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity
  • Participates in developing fiduciary strategic plan and sets goals and priorities; ensures objectives are met
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering employee participation, teamwork, and communication
  • Cultivates relationships with referral sources
