Requirements

Background in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with extensive design experience
Significant relevant work experience in engineering or technical discipline
Appropriate standard of technical, safety, and professional knowledge
Knowledge of Oil & Gas business, especially subsea (asset)
Fully familiar with Risk Assessment and Reliability Verification procedures
Highly knowledgeable of current relevant industry standards and codes
Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (ISO, API, ASME, NORSOK, DNV)
Experience with current Design/Modelling/Financial/Project Management/Analytical software (Teamcenter, Creo, AutoCAD, Ansys Workbench)
Conscientious, flexible, versatile, and determined
Capable of assertive and positive communication and performance
Good presentation and written skills
Fully fluent in English (other location-specific languages desirable)
Sufficient understanding of behavioral personnel issues

Responsibilities

Mentor and train less experienced designers: create work packs, review detail drawings, create test procedures, lead tasks with external partners
Create/review/approve layouts, specify functional components, evaluate stackups, create assembly procedures, support manufacturing, undertake basic calculations
Interpret customer engineering specifications to produce layout, detail, and assembly designs and specifications
Develop conceptual design requirements and layouts for review following company design process plan (DPP)
Develop general design specifications for interpretation by other engineers and designers
Retrieve and submit data in PLM (Teamcenter) system following company protocols
Create/review/approve detail, fabrication, and assembly level drawings to company standards
Create/review/approve detail designs for manufacture and participate/create material for design reviews (materials, environmental) using relevant software
Undertake design verification (tolerance studies, design reliability, design for manufacture, simple failure analysis, design reviews, simple calculations)
Identify improvements in existing products, procedures, and processes; develop cost-effective solutions
Create/review/approve factory acceptance test (FAT) procedures, prototype test procedures, FDS, and User Manuals
Provide support to the team working on tenders
Lead and participate in multi-disciplinary engineering groups to provide solutions to projects and client needs
Seek new innovative technical solutions to improve team processes, products, and systems
Support CTR process and create scope of work
Perform system approach in tasks and projects
Promote team professional growth through timely performance feedback and coaching
