Responsibilities
- Build and lead a team of software engineers focusing on software delivery experience tools, cloud governance (compliance, risk reduction, automation, standardization to cloud-native architectures), and well-managed experiences for visibility and control
- Work with senior Technology and Business Executives to understand their Vision and translate it into Execution Strategy
- Guide software engineering teams in designing and delivering high-quality software for critical business features on AWS to latest technology standards
- Collaborate with Architecture, Card Product, Card Technology, and Enterprise stakeholders to drive projects forward
- Provide Technology thought leadership, recruit and hire top engineering talent, and raise the talent bar
- Work with product owners to articulate benefits of proposed solutions, influence the technical roadmap, and help prioritize work
- Lead and inspire a team of 50-70 high-quality software engineers
- Support an aggressive recruiting agenda to assess and staff a large (100+ person) high-quality software engineering organization
- Provide thought leadership and guidance to software engineers and product partners on software delivery experience, cloud and risk engineering, and well-managed practices
- Encourage innovation, cutting-edge technologies, and out-of-the-box thinking
- Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions
- Serve as primary point of contact and proactively manage relationships with Capital One US Tech leaders to align resources and sequence needs for strategic priorities
- Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments
- Support continuous improvement processes and shift-left well-managed activities by enabling developers through tooling and automation
