Requirements

  • Experience leading technical project and program management teams in IT and R&D environments
  • Expertise in managing complex portfolios spanning hardware, software, AI/ML, new product development, sustaining engineering, and automation initiatives
  • Proven ability to partner with executive leadership, product management, and functional leaders across systems engineering, product development, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, and quality
  • Strong background in developing and implementing program management methodologies, tools, governance frameworks, and processes incorporating design control, QMS elements, and business processes from concept to launch
  • Proficiency in risk management at program and portfolio levels, including proactive mitigation strategies
  • Knowledge of design controls, regulatory standards, and quality system requirements
  • Experience establishing and monitoring KPIs, milestones, and metrics for program health and organizational capacity
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams of program and project managers
  • Skills in executive communication, synthesizing complex technical/business information, and providing data-driven reporting to senior executives, Board, and stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments as a results-oriented, innovative problem solver committed to patient impact

Responsibilities

  • Lead the R&D PMO, managing a portfolio of programs spanning new product development, sustaining engineering, automation, and AI/ML initiatives
  • Partner with senior executives to prioritize investments, allocate resources, and balance near-term delivery with long-term innovation
  • Develop, implement, and refine program management methodologies, tools, governance frameworks, and processes for scalability and consistency
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, clinical, quality, supply chain, regulatory) to deliver products from concept through commercialization
  • Oversee risk management practices at program and portfolio levels
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, milestones, and metrics for program transparency and organizational capacity
  • Ensure adherence to design controls, regulatory standards, and quality system requirements
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of program and project managers, fostering accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and professional growth
  • Provide coaching and thought leadership to elevate program management practices organization-wide
  • Act as primary interface for R&D leadership with executives, delivering transparent, data-driven reporting and influencing stakeholders to resolve conflicts
