The ideal candidate possesses 10+ years of experience in building and scaling B2B fintech or payments products, with deep expertise in card issuing, credit and fraud risk, and interchange economics. A proven track record of owning a multi-million dollar revenue business and improving gross margins while accelerating growth is essential. The role requires strong data and risk management skills, including experience with underwriting, collections, and machine-learning fraud models, as well as the ability to translate data insights into product strategies. Experience serving fleet or physical operations customers, particularly in transportation, logistics, construction, or field service, is a plus. The candidate must be a hands-on leader capable of building diverse, high-performing teams and a clear communicator who can distill complexity into actionable narratives.
The Senior Director, Financial Products will set the product vision, P&L, and roadmap for all financial products, defining the 3-year strategy and owning performance targets such as TPV, interchange margin, credit losses, and attach rate. This role involves building and leading a world-class team of product managers, risk analysts, and data scientists, fostering a culture of ownership and speed. Key responsibilities include shipping transformational features like real-time fraud prevention, dynamic credit and spend controls, embedded financing, and AI-powered risk models. The Director will partner deeply with Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Data Science, Sales, Partnerships, and external financial institutions to ensure rapid yet compliant execution. They will also operationalize excellence by creating rigorous OKRs, dashboards, and business reviews, and represent Motive externally to strategic customers, regulators, and industry partners. Additionally, the role requires enabling Go-To-Market scale by equipping Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing with the necessary positioning, collateral, and pricing.
