Candidates should possess at least 4 years of hands-on data engineering experience, with a strong understanding of data structures and cloud platform environments, particularly AWS, Azure, or GCP. They should be proficient in Python (Pandas, NumPy) and SQL for data processing and querying, and demonstrate expertise in distributed data processing/storage technologies such as Apache Spark. Furthermore, experience with data lake and lakehouse patterns, including open table formats like Iceberg, Hudi, or Delta, is required, along with knowledge of ETL performance tuning and cost optimization strategies.
As a Senior Data Engineer at Kin Insurance, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable data pipelines and models for enterprise reporting, implementing data validation standards and QA procedures, optimizing pipeline performance and data quality, migrating data warehouse architecture to a lakehouse architecture (e.g., S3, Glue, Databricks, Unity catalog), mentoring data engineers, ensuring data security and compliance with regulations, and translating ambiguous business requirements into technical solutions while applying marketing domain knowledge. You will also collaborate with a cross-functional project team to implement effective reporting solutions.
