Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in data engineering. Strong analytical SQL and Python skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of software engineering principles like version control, testing, and CI/CD. Experience with data warehousing technologies, preferably Snowflake, and cloud platforms like GCP, including services such as Cloud Functions and GCS, is required. Experience designing and implementing reliable ETL/ELT pipelines and excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are also necessary. Bonus points are awarded for experience with Snowflake, dbt, Montecarlo, Airflow, data governance, data quality frameworks, data modeling principles, and infrastructure-as-code tools.

Responsibilities

The Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain high-performance data pipelines using Python, SQL, dbt, and Snowflake on GCP, while advancing code quality, test coverage, and maintainability. They will champion software engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and documentation, and support the adoption of data quality tools and practices. Responsibilities include researching and recommending new technologies, contributing to data architecture and design, and collaborating with software engineering teams to define data structures and ensure data consistency. The role also involves working with stakeholders to understand data needs, translate them into technical requirements, and ensure projects are well-defined. Additionally, the Data Engineer will troubleshoot data pipeline issues, contribute to CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure, participate in on-call rotations, and identify and address process inefficiencies.
