Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to play a crucial role in building and scaling our data foundation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop scalable solutions that enhance operations, improve data quality, support client needs, and expand data access to drive company growth. Your contributions will directly improve our data accuracy, auditability, and operational efficiency by automating manual processes and creating robust data products. This role demands a hands-on approach to tackling complex data challenges that significantly impact the company's data reporting and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ELT data pipelines using tools such as dbt, Dagster, and GCP to ensure reliable and efficient data processing.
  • Build and optimize data models to support analytics and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to create and maintain self-service tools for operational and analytical services.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Monitor and improve database performance, optimizing queries and managing warehouse costs on BigQuery.
  • Automate and enhance data pipeline workflows to improve scalability and efficiency.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective solutions.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery).
  • Experience with data transformation tools (e.g., dbt).
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Dagster or Airflow).
  • Proven experience in designing and maintaining robust ELT pipelines and scalable data models.
  • Familiarity with self-service analytics tools (e.g., Looker).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and deliver data solutions that drive business impact.
