Candidates should possess over 5 years of hands-on data engineering experience, with proficiency in SQL and Python. Required experience includes modern data platforms like BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, or Redshift, data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt, or Prefect, and familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure). Experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and writing clean, maintainable, well-documented code is also necessary. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to remain seated for prolonged periods, along with eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity, are expected.
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing scalable data pipelines (batch and streaming), building data warehouse and data lake solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data availability and quality. This role involves implementing data quality, observability, and governance best practices, supporting ETL/ELT processes and data model design, and contributing to the selection and implementation of modern data tools. The engineer will also participate in on-call rotations for critical data infrastructure.
