    • US: $142,000 - $209,000 USD
    • Canada: 166,500 - 196,000 CAD (Note: Salary may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Compensation includes medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.)

About the Team

The Data and Analytics team is seeking a passionate individual to advance the Databricks data lakehouse. The team focuses on designing and building high-impact data products using cutting-edge tools, prioritizing members over metrics. Team members are expected to become go-to experts for data products, demonstrating open-mindedness, collaboration, and strong communication skills. About the Job

Life360 handles vast amounts of data, including billions of location points, user actions, and miles driven monthly. As a Senior Data Engineer II, you will be instrumental in enhancing and maintaining data processing and storage pipelines for a robust and secure data lake. This role requires a strong engineering background and a proactive approach to owning and improving data systems.

(Note for Canadian positions: The job title will be "Developer" instead of "Engineer".)

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data processing platforms for real-time analytics and exploratory data analysis.
  • Manage data from ingestion through ELT, storage, and batch processing.
  • Automate, test, and harden all data workflows.
  • Architect logical and physical data models to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with analytics and platform teams, applying best practices.
  • Architect and develop systems and algorithms for distributed real-time analytics and data processing.
  • Implement strategies for data acquisition and transformation to drive new insights.
  • Champion data engineering best practices and institutionalize efficient processes to foster team growth and innovation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with high-volume data infrastructure.
  • Deep experience with Databricks and AWS cloud computing platforms.
  • Proficient programming in Python.
  • Proficiency with SQL and ability to optimize queries.
