Candidates should possess a Juris Doctorate and have substantial in-house or top-tier law firm experience in data services and SaaS licensing within the technology sector. Preferred experience includes negotiating with public sector entities or financial institutions, supporting a global sales team at a B2B, high-growth technology company, and understanding GDPR and CCPA in transactional contexts, including reviewing DPAs and advising on compliance and information security. Government contracting experience and familiarity with the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry are considered major pluses.
The Senior Commercial Counsel will create, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of data services and SaaS commercial agreements for global public and private sector customers. This role involves reviewing and responding to RFPs and tender documentation for public sector clients, collaborating with go-to-market, operations, marketing, infosec, engineering, and product teams, and addressing data privacy and security issues in complex transactions. The counsel will also provide commercially astute, risk-appropriate decisions, gain a comprehensive understanding of the company's sales process and contracting model, and offer commercial guidance beyond legal matters to support company objectives.
