Requirements

Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant experience at a top law firm or as in-house counsel, be a resourceful team player ready to dive into a scrappy startup environment, and possess ambition as a self-starter who thrives in ambiguous environments and enjoys strategic challenges. They must combine legal precision with practical, principled problem-solving, demonstrate a commitment to doing good and helping people, and be a member in good standing in at least one US state bar. Experience with US privacy/data protection laws, managing a wide docket of issues in-house at a high-growth technology company, and corporate governance are considered bonuses.

Responsibilities

The Counsel/Senior Counsel will join the in-house legal team as a founding member, working alongside the General Counsel to steer high-level strategy and gain visibility into company decisions. They will advise company leaders on day-to-day legal issues and long-term strategy, helping to define the culture, systems, and future of the Legal department. This role involves being deeply embedded across teams and acting as a core business partner, not just a risk manager.
