Requirements

A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration is preferred. Strong knowledge of billing systems, invoicing workflows, collections best practices, and platforms like NetSuite or Salesforce is required. Exceptional attention to detail, advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, and familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards are essential. Experience with government and public sector clients is also a plus.

Responsibilities

The Senior Billing Specialist will manage the end-to-end billing and invoicing process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. This role involves partnering with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Legal to accurately reflect contract terms in billing and revenue recognition. Key responsibilities include driving collections efforts, monitoring outstanding receivables, resolving disputes, and improving payment cycles. The specialist will also identify and implement process improvements for automation and scalability, support audit readiness through documentation and internal controls, and ensure invoicing practices align with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
