Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience working in a leadership role within a distribution environment
  • Preferred prior technical experience with compressed gases, gas analysis, and gas lab equipment
  • Preferred prior experience utilizing SAP
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google suite applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong analytical skills and thorough understanding of leveraging metrics and tools to improve production efficiency and effectiveness
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including clear speaking, writing, encouraging open expression of ideas, and effective listening
  • Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios, and percent
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, well-organized, and able to work independently
  • Detail-oriented with ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation neatly and accurately
  • Demonstrated dedication to product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to talk, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day activities for a segment within industrial, specialty, and medical distribution and gas filling operations
  • Assist with managing gas cylinder processing, ultrasonic testing, and compliance with FDA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, SAFECORE, and other business-related regulations
  • Supervise activities of 2 or more plant production associates to accomplish job duties
  • Partner with other Plant Supervisors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Promote a strong safety and compliance culture by correcting unsafe acts or conditions without delay
  • Assign tasks to workers according to customers’ needs, current stock levels, and workers’ expertise
  • Study production schedules, estimate worker-hour requirements, and maintain time and production records
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
  • Implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, working conditions, and equipment use to increase work crew efficiency
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them
  • Recommend or initiate associate actions such as new hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, performance improvement, and disciplinary measures
  • Train new workers and cross-train employees to maintain production during personnel shortages
  • Provide assistance to the Plant Manager with planning and managing capital investments
  • Coordinate proper inventory levels of supplies and equipment
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
