Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Field Applications Specialist for their Environmental and Process Monitoring (EPM) Portfolio, based in Malaysia or Taiwan. This role is crucial for the commercial team, focusing on providing pre- and post-sales application support. The primary goal is to develop and explore new solutions for customers, generate demand, and provide post-sales commissioning and training support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific expertise through sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Install and maintain EPM products.
  • Demonstrate the feasibility of applications and provide consultation to prospective users.
  • Ensure product application/solutions function to specifications.
  • Work with the commercial team to achieve commercial success and develop business strategies for market growth with Channel Partners.
  • Provide application solutions to customers, support New Product Introduction, troubleshoot application problems, and deliver effective user training.
  • Support commercial activities in assigned territories and accounts.
  • Set up and manage demo lab operations, including planning, technical specifications, equipment ordering, installation, and commissioning.
  • Assist in lead generation by developing sales or marketing materials (sales presentations, application notes, technical information).
  • Participate in seminars, workshops, and trade shows.
  • Provide and coordinate efficient support and training to channel partners to enhance their application proficiencies and drive business success.
  • Utilize demo instruments effectively to support customers and commercial activities.
  • Collaborate on developing training programs to deploy technical advancements for the regional market.
  • Work closely with Regional Commercial Leaders and Marketing teams on marketing/sales activities.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or another technical/science degree. Post-graduate qualification in a related field is an advantage.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of working experience in a similar field, particularly with Gas Analyzers and Mass Spectrometry instrumentation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong technical proficiency and good communication skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding and knowledge of Semiconductor, Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical industries.
  • Documentation Skills: Knowledge and experience in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical documentation and application notes.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong market knowledge and professional networks.
  • Motivation: Strongly motivated by a desire to win new business.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions and observations from market trends and competitors.
  • Independence: Demonstrated ability to operate independently with initiative.
