Field Applications Engineer

Position Overview

Arrow Electronics is seeking a self-starter with a passion for success and a different way of thinking to join our team as a Field Applications Engineer (FAE). This role requires a blend of technical expertise and business acumen to identify, select, source, win, and support new business opportunities. You will be instrumental in influencing component selection by spending a majority of your time engaging with customers, leveraging your technical leadership to champion return on engineering investment.

Responsibilities

  • Influence component selection by engaging directly with customers.
  • Utilize advanced understanding of customer needs and technical leadership to champion return on engineering investment.
  • Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing relationships and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Identify key relationships within suppliers and customers.
  • Grow your account base each quarter.
  • Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs.
  • Understand customer needs and leverage Arrow’s engineering and design services to facilitate solutions.
  • Apply technical knowledge to influence designs using solution selling, resources, and strategies.
  • Identify and resolve customer design needs and issues.
  • Monitor performance metrics and take corrective action to meet or exceed goals.
  • Present technical seminars and workshops.
  • Provide frequent updates to the field sales team and motivate them regarding supplier lines.
  • Partner with the sales team on pre- and post-sales activities, providing technical support and consulting.
  • Conduct technical calibrations and research with sales, other Arrow departments, and suppliers.
  • Champion return on engineering investment, design win priorities, initiatives, and promotions.
  • Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings and QBRs.
  • Develop and drive strategic technical plans.
  • Participate in ArrowEDGE initiatives.
  • Organize engineering customer events.
  • Meet with suppliers to review customer design activity and identify solutions.
  • Attend supplier trainings.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with system/board/engineering solutions and electronic components.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced level experience using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to quickly become competent on CRM and Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Oracle, Salesforce, and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Self-starter capable of prioritizing activities to maximize Design Wins and Sales Revenue.
  • Ability to prioritize and be conscious of opportunity value to maximize sales revenue and design wins.
  • Ability to quickly respond and support salespeople with customer technical issues and identify new opportunities independently.
  • Ability to quickly learn company sales support systems to search for new leads.
