Requirements

  • Bilingualism (French and English) - Must be able to conduct online and in-person training sessions in both official languages
  • Relevant degree in a related field from an accredited university (or relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
  • Typically minimum 1-2 years relevant experience in sales training OR a mix of sales and sales training, preferably in merchant sales
  • Intermediate full scope of knowledge of company and industry to support sales initiatives
  • Intermediate ability to coach and mentor sales effectively on all levels
  • Learns to use professional concepts and applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
  • Works on problems of limited scope, follows standard practices and procedures
  • Builds stable working relationships internally
  • Normally receives detailed instructions on all work

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver internal training courses/programs targeting new hire orientation, product training, sales process and consultative selling, sales effectiveness, presentation skills, phone selling skills, etc
  • Apply foundational knowledge of the Sales Function to design curriculum/content (tests, visual aids, etc.), select appropriate delivery mechanisms (classroom, webcast, e-learning, field training, etc.) and conduct training
  • Develop and monitor metrics for evaluating training effectiveness
  • Accountable for broader Sales Function talent development as part of Sales functional excellence/performance improvement initiatives
  • Deliver a range of training on moderately complex products, processes and soft skills content to diverse audiences, demonstrating clear understanding of subjects and deviating from materials based on audience knowledge
  • Analyze, research and develop training solutions following instructional design theory, submit for review and approval, and tailor programs based on individual customer needs
  • Provide cross training and support for colleagues
  • Provide detailed advice and support relating to areas of expertise
  • Provide basic coaching for team members and junior leadership relating to low impact scenarios (e.g., applying basic leadership content or understanding merchant statements and pricing initiatives)
  • Ensure delivery of multiple training requirements for a key customer/department based on training needs
  • Evaluate participants on set criteria, document feedback, deliver to trainees and share with leaders to partner with management to foster development of sales organizations
