Requirements

  • University degree in life-science, engineering (biomedical engineering, electrical, IT, natural sciences), cardiopneumology or other relevant degree
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a sales role in healthcare/medical (device) industry (not a limitation)
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese (reading, conversation, and writing)
  • Computer literacy
  • Clean driver’s license; willingness to travel intensively (approx. 25%)
  • Willingness to work with physicians, nurses, and hospital technicians
  • Willingness to provide expert technical support in the operating room in the hospitals
  • Communication skills and motivation to build strong business relationships with customers
  • Teamwork, proactivity and focus on delivering results
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with high degree of organization-prioritization skill
  • Self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Motivation to learn
  • Experience in cath lab procedures or Structural Heart therapies (well valued)
  • Preferably located in Porto or Coimbra (territory: North of Portugal)

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to physicians in the operating room and cath labs in the hospitals during the TAVI and other Structural Heart procedures
  • Promote and sell Medtronic's products and services within the assigned geographic area and/or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Advise referring physicians on company products, therapies, and services to optimize patient outcomes; educate them on clinical evidence of defined therapies to demonstrate improved patient outcomes
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with key decision makers
  • Pursue leads, assess needs, and provide product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's products and/or services
  • Implement market development plans/strategies and changes as needed
  • Communicate customer feedback on new products and/or modifications to existing products or applications to internal stakeholders including R&D, Operations and Marketing
  • Collect market intelligence data, follow, and report competition activities
