SaaS Sales Manager - Mid-Market (West)

Salary: $260K - $310K Employment Type: Full-Time Location Type: Remote (North America - Pacific or Central Time Zones)

About Ashby

Ashby is building the next generation of enterprise software, focusing on empowering talent leaders, recruiters, and hiring managers with a holistic, data-centric talent strategy. We are a well-funded company backed by notable investors like Y Combinator, Elad Gil, and Lachy Groom. Our suite of products serves over 2,500 customers, including industry leaders such as Snowflake, OpenAI, Shopify, Ramp, Notion, and Zapier. With a clear buyer persona, a large target market, and multiple products already available, Ashby is experiencing revenue growth exceeding 100% year-over-year, presenting a significant opportunity for growth.

About this Role

We are seeking an experienced SaaS Sales Manager to lead our West-based Mid-Market Sales Team, serving companies with 101-1,000 Full-Time Employees (FTEs). This role reports to the Head of Sales, Americas and will play a crucial role in defining our go-to-market strategy in collaboration with Marketing and Customer Success leaders. The Mid-Market segment offers a compelling combination of high-velocity and high-value deals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Accountability: Be accountable for the revenue results of the Mid-Market segment. Identify key revenue drivers, focus the team's efforts on high-impact activities, and partner with Marketing on pipeline generation initiatives.
  • Coaching and Development: Provide consistent coaching to enable all sales representatives to reach their full potential. Identify individual and team-level areas for improvement and support reps in their career growth.
  • Hiring: Make high-quality hiring decisions in alignment with market demand, believing that smaller, high-caliber teams can achieve remarkable results.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You could be a great fit if you:

  • Have managed a team of Account Executives who contributed $7M+/year in ARR at a growth-stage SaaS company.
  • Possess a proven track record of hiring and onboarding new sales reps who quickly become top performers, providing them with challenging and supportive career growth opportunities.
  • Are a dedicated teacher and coach who enjoys helping sales reps hone their skills. You can quickly identify skill or knowledge gaps and deliver empathetic coaching that drives tangible improvement.
  • Have a strong understanding of sales excellence and are a lifelong learner, open to new ideas and experimentation.
  • Are comfortable engaging in deals to build executive relationships with customers without overshadowing your team.
  • Have an operational mindset, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to accelerate deal flow. You enjoy collaborating with Revenue Operations to refine processes and tools.
  • Quickly become a product and industry expert, connecting dots effectively. Customers and your team trust your practical advice and relevant insights.

Bonus Points:

  • Previous experience as a high-performing Enterprise Account Executive with substantial deal strategy experience.
  • Experience selling complex platform applications to Talent and/or People leaders.

You should not apply if:

  • You prefer a dashboard-and-forecast management style and are not inclined to engage in deals and daily operations.
  • You are not eager to learn our substantial product; a "That's for SEs" mentality is not aligned with our approach.

Our Philosophy

Ashby fosters a highly collaborative environment, believing in a team-based sales approach to maximize win rates on high-impact deals. We are committed to developing subject matter expertise, not only in our product but also across the broader industry.
