The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a sales role focused on qualifying non-members and FBN members for various business lines including crop protection, seed, livestock, and financial services. This role requires a self-starter capable of prioritizing a sales process across multiple business objectives and product lines. FBN seeks a career-minded individual with opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Place outbound calls to farmers to understand their operations and identify how FBN's offerings can benefit them or provide a positive ROI.
  • Execute prospecting activities to qualify farmers for FBN commercial products and manage the subsequent sales process.
  • Independently prioritize daily sales execution of FBN services.
  • Clearly communicate information about crop protection, seed, livestock, and finance programs.
  • Qualify leads for multiple product lines, manage the sales pipeline, and research industry and regional market characteristics.
  • Develop strategies for overcoming objections when discussing FBN's products.
  • Utilize Salesforce and other SaaS tools to manage, prioritize, and document farmer interactions and sales processes.
  • Proactively provide and seek peer feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Consistently demonstrate proficiency in communicating FBN's diverse service offerings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of equivalent experience.
  • Passion for agriculture and a farmer-first approach.
  • Proven ability to excel in a self-guided work environment.
  • Comfort with using and explaining technology products/services.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, competitive environment with performance-based rewards.
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in Ag sales, with a track record of top-tier results.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Proven aptitude for excellence in competitive environments.
