Requirements

Candidates should possess the ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with employees and customers, and the ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 3 hours at a time. They must also be able to move about the workplace selling to customers and retrieving merchandise from storage and/or the sales floor, including grabbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to demonstrate, retrieve, and/or replenish merchandise, and ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and move merchandise. Furthermore, candidates are expected to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends as business dictates, and operate a computer, POS system, and keyboards.

Responsibilities

The Sales Associate will provide an exceptional customer experience according to customer service standards, proactively seek out customers to determine their needs and sell items, stay informed by maintaining product knowledge and seeking additional resources, work as part of a high-performing team to achieve store’s sales plan, strive to achieve individual sales goals, share product assortment and services with customers, demonstrate products upon request, consistently follow Sur La Table policies and standard operating procedures, maintain a clean store environment, process transactions accurately and efficiently via the POS, ensure pricing integrity and stock the sales floor, record time worked accurately, demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, protect customers, employees, and company assets, and notify the Manager on Duty of safety risks or threats. They will also fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager on Duty, General Manager, or Store Manager.
