Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
A minimum of 5 years of related safety experience within a production and distribution environment
CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification (Preferred)
In lieu of a degree, consideration may be given for up to 4 years of additional related experience

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate area loss control initiatives
Coordinate training for regulatory safety & compliance
Manage claims management processes
Conduct audits for compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Develop and implement a team to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements
Champion and promote a strong safety and compliance culture
Implement programs to ensure associate safety and company regulatory compliance
Manage, deliver, and conduct training on Airgas’s various SOPs, including the Safety Manual, Medical Gas Manual, and other corporate compliance manuals
Represent the company on regulatory issues with government entities
Serve as a leader on the Airgas Incident Review Committee
Analyze significant risk data to evaluate the effectiveness of safety initiatives
Develop and implement action plans to mitigate risks
Conduct incident investigations in conjunction with Branch and/or Plant Management
Partner with insurance carriers to manage claims
Participate in activities designed to empower employees to lead safety efforts
Participate in the AERO (Airgas Emergency Response Operations) Team
Perform other projects and duties as assigned
