Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
  • A minimum of 5 years of related safety experience within a production and distribution environment
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification (Preferred)
  • In lieu of a degree, consideration may be given for up to 4 years of additional related experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate area loss control initiatives
  • Coordinate training for regulatory safety & compliance
  • Manage claims management processes
  • Conduct audits for compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Develop and implement a team to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements
  • Champion and promote a strong safety and compliance culture
  • Implement programs to ensure associate safety and company regulatory compliance
  • Manage, deliver, and conduct training on Airgas’s various SOPs, including the Safety Manual, Medical Gas Manual, and other corporate compliance manuals
  • Represent the company on regulatory issues with government entities
  • Serve as a leader on the Airgas Incident Review Committee
  • Analyze significant risk data to evaluate the effectiveness of safety initiatives
  • Develop and implement action plans to mitigate risks
  • Conduct incident investigations in conjunction with Branch and/or Plant Management
  • Partner with insurance carriers to manage claims
  • Participate in activities designed to empower employees to lead safety efforts
  • Participate in the AERO (Airgas Emergency Response Operations) Team
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned
