Requirements

  • 2-3 years of related professional experience
  • Degree in Marketing, Merchandising, Business, or other related field and/or related experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information in writing and verbally across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage time and resources to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong analytical and financial skills; ability to analyze trends, make independent judgements with considerable impacts on the organization, problem solve, and work with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office 365
  • Familiarity with the Mammoth Mountain Resorts and action sports industry
  • Valid California driver’s license with no major moving violations in the last three (3) years
  • Willingness to travel (up to 300 miles to nearest major airport via vehicle due to remote location)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute product assortment based on fiscal year budget and open to buy (OTB)
  • Manage and support resort initiatives to grow revenue while protecting initial markup value to support gross margin and increase stock turns of assigned categories
  • Collaborate with other buyers on the team to develop an all-encompassing merchandise plan for each unique retail outlet for Mammoth Resorts and Crystal Mountain
  • Execute weekly forecasting, planning, analyzing, and operational follow-through to all retail outlets, adhering to company and divisional strategies
  • Work closely with industry partners and destination leaders to understand current and future trends and opportunities to maximize position as a destination retailer and grow business in assigned categories
