Requirements

  • Primarily work onsite in Greater Sacramento CA/Roseville CA at an HPE partner/customer office
  • Expert-level skill sets on Juniper Networks products and solutions
  • Ability to hold network information gathering workshops and understand customer’s existing network design, technical requirements, organizational structure, implementation, and support processes
  • Capability to test new designs, features, functionality, patches, and fixes in lab and live environments
  • Skills in troubleshooting equipment and network problems, opening/tracking JTAC cases, and handling RMAs
  • Proficiency in producing written summary reports on design projects, equipment, and network problems
  • Experience holding technology workshops to discuss problems, provide case updates, workarounds, and solutions
  • Ability to train customer personnel on configuring and operating Juniper Networks products
  • Knowledge to assist in developing Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures
  • Full-time employment commitment

Responsibilities

  • Hold network information gathering workshops with the Customer to understand existing network design and technical requirements of new network designs
  • Become familiar with the Customer’s organizational structure, network implementation, and support processes to ensure network availability and sustainability
  • Carry out testing of new designs, features, and functionality in a laboratory environment and develop plans to implement and verify them in the live network
  • Test patches and fixes to operating software, ensuring they function correctly in pre-production test network and live network per implementation plans
  • Troubleshoot equipment and network problems and open/track JTAC cases to resolve pre- and post-production issues
  • Raise equipment Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and track them through to problem resolution
  • Produce written summary reports of the status of design projects, equipment, and network problems regularly to the Customer
  • Hold technology workshops with the Customer to discuss equipment and network problems, provide case status updates, reasons for problems, and workarounds/solutions
  • Train the Customer’s design, implementation, and support personnel to configure and operate Juniper Networks products
  • Assist the Customer in developing Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures
  • Support the production environment of Juniper products within the Customer infrastructure
  • Support ongoing efforts in defining best practice policies for Juniper product applications used by Customer
  • Peer with other employees performing similar resident engineering roles to share lessons learned and minimize risk in major network upgrades or changes
  • Develop secondary skills in other products in the Juniper portfolio
