Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or certificate(s)
  • Previous experience repairing smartphones, laptops and tablets
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuits, and device operating systems
  • Proficiency with repair tools and equipment
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and provide effective solutions
  • Strong communication
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Must be able to read and understand schematics
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to regularly sit at a desk, occasionally stand, walk, lift, carry, and/or move up to 20-25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision and the ability to focus

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues in cell phones, laptops and tablets
  • Replace or repair defective components such as screens, batteries, charging ports, keyboards and motherboards
  • Conduct functionality tests to ensure successful repairs and quality standards
  • Stay up to date with the latest device models and repair techniques
  • Keep the work area clean, organized and compliant with safety standards
  • Perform soldering and board-level repairs when required
  • Collaborate with team members to meet repair deadlines
  • Perform electromechanical assembly using hand and electric tools
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend solutions or process improvements
  • Physically move material as needed
  • Use a computer to enter data into the company database
  • Ensure repairs are completed within set turnaround times to meet customer expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
