Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with preferred degrees in life sciences, business, or healthcare, and a minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare sales experience. A minimum of 3 years of rare disease, orphan drug, or highly specialized sales experience is required, including selling high-cost products through a specialty pharmacy and coordinating with patient services. Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and successfully managing a territory is essential, along with experience selling in specialized clinics, hospitals, and academic centers.
The Regional Account Manager will be responsible for representing PTC’s products to medical professionals specializing in neurological diseases and/or Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) within their assigned region, handling all operational aspects of pharmaceutical sales and services, including generating sales, communicating product benefits, building relationships, educating healthcare staff, and identifying new opportunities for commercial and scientific growth. They will collaborate with internal departments and external resources on sales-related issues, support adherence to regulatory requirements and company SOPs, achieve assigned sales targets, implement marketing strategies, engage with Patient Services and Managed Markets, develop business partnerships with physicians, identify key treatment centers, cultivate relationships with patient advocacy groups, employ a consultative sales approach, address product access issues, and perform additional tasks as needed.
