Responsibilities

Lead a best-in-class, cross-functional team of software engineers (up to 3 development teams)
Define and promote team's ways of working, hiring, and training strategies
Ensure balanced development team that delivers on promises with high performance, clear product plan, and software meeting customer expectations including non-functionals (security, performance, maintainability, reliability)
Drive team to get feedback from stakeholders across Backbase and take action where needed
Help team set strategic direction and facilitate reaching goals
Work with value stream leadership, product managers, domain architects, and stakeholders to deliver products impacting global customers
Manage team & people: improve soft and strong engineering skills, create conditions for delivering high-quality features, ensure right setup, competences, and energized dynamics aligned with Backbase values
Surface and solve anti-patterns or dysfunctions impacting team performance on a day-to-day basis
Own delivery commitments, ensure delivery of promised features, keep technology stakeholders informed
Protect and support team to meet quality standards, advocate Lean Agile principles with Product Owners for realistic commitments
Ensure minimal effort releases with no production issues (or address if not)
Balance software development lifecycle aspects: non-functionals, automated releases, quality, coding standards, automation, integration testing, release validation, security, infrastructure, product domain details
Build strong craftsmanship and effective processes to optimize quality, predictability, and output
Celebrate milestones to build social cohesion and decompress
