Requirements

  • High school diploma and equivalent work experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 6 months experience with assembly and/or welding
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings to identify measurements and set up jigs
  • Ability to use and read a tape measure to the 32nd
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of blueprints
  • Ability to stand for a full shift and lift at least 50 pounds
  • Basic knowledge of power hand tools
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work in a safe manner
  • Demonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directions
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, product labeling, and numbers
  • Ability to use and operate hand tools and other equipment as required
  • Demonstrates tack welding experience with both steel and aluminum components
  • Working knowledge of basic math, including fractions
  • Ability to stack and package material properly

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate component parts to customer specifications, including cutting raw materials, mechanically assembling components, and/or finishing product
  • Assemble components through tack welding
  • Identify different types of raw materials, secure and maintain correct component parts and supplies
  • Complete work area set up
  • Fit parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions or proper jig set-ups and quality standards
  • Operate presses, machinery, and hand tools as required
  • Tack weld steel or aluminum components based on customer specifications
  • Stack, package, and band completed products in accordance with established procedures, and create proper identification of materials and products
  • Ensure work area is safe, clean, and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate
  • Complete pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and report problems to supervisor
  • Maintain production records as required
  • Check materials and finished products for compliance with standards
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and perform duties consistent with safety and quality procedures
  • Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and other programs and meetings as requested
  • Conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner with all employees
  • Make a conscientious commitment to come to work every day and be on time
  • Assist other departments and perform other duties as assigned
