Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience as a lab technician or similar in the laboratory environment in the food, consumer products, biotechnology, or similar industry
  • Minimum high school diploma or associate degree in biology or similar
  • Experience in GMP and environmental monitoring program
  • High integrity and quality of work
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Capable of working individually and as a part of a team
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours to meet the requirements of the position
  • Comfortable with autonomy and a deliverable-oriented approach
  • Good problem-solving skill
  • Good working knowledge of fundamental data analysis, statistical methods, and data reporting
  • Must be able to adhere to all lab safety procedures
  • This role requires wearing a tight-fitting respirator and compliance with MycoWorks’ facial hair and fit testing policies

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and ensuring incoming materials and in-process materials that meet the minimum standards of quality
  • Testing and monitoring bioburden from internal and external sources
  • Perform aseptic techniques in daily workload
  • Calibrating and maintaining microbiology laboratory equipment
  • Ensuring the lab equipment calibration and performance to ensure the accuracy of test results
  • Logging, compiling, and analyzing data for reports and documentation
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders through meetings and clearly written technical emails, reports, and presentations
  • Supporting SOP writing for test methods, specification, equipment operating, and testing protocols
  • Maintaining media and reagents as needed for routine microbiological testing
  • Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements
  • Providing routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal
  • Supporting projects as assigned
  • Performing quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc
  • Performing all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner
  • Responsible for the safety of oneself and others working within their area
  • Responsible for the completion of required internal training
  • Participating in internal plant audits
