Requirements

2+ years of purchasing experience in a life sciences lab or company, with a strong understanding of R&D workflows
Meticulous attention to detail while juggling competing priorities
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Proactive approach to problem-solving, with a high sense of urgency and excellent time management
Ability to learn new platforms quickly
Ability to travel to customer sites or vendor shows 4-6 times per year
Bonus: customer-facing experience, proficiency with procurement/accounting software (NetSuite, QBO), or previous work in a fast-growing startup

Responsibilities

Run point on ordering: handle purchasing from start to finish for multiple R&D labs, ensuring scientists get what they need, when they need it
Solve problems before they happen: stay one step ahead of supply chain issues to keep research moving forward without a hitch
Optimize for value: actively source products, compare vendor pricing, and find deals to ensure labs' budgets are maximized without compromising on quality
Drive account success: be the go-to Quartzy person, helping labs scale efficiently by improving their internal processes and software adoption
Be the customer’s biggest advocate: build meaningful relationships with customers and be their voice inside the company
