Candidates should have over 4 years of hands-on experience in manual QA testing, including test case creation, execution, and defect management. A basic understanding of DevOps practices, experience with infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform or Ansible, and proficiency in using test management tools like TestRail or Xray and defect tracking systems like Jira are required. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, exposure to CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins or Git, familiarity with Python and shell scripting, and experience working in an Agile development environment are also necessary. Comfort working in Windows, Linux, and Mac environments is expected.
The QA/Operations Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and owning test infrastructure and test execution, analyzing test results, and responding to alerts from monitoring systems. This role involves escalating issues, managing system OS image creation, managing third-party applications, and reimaging endpoints. Responsibilities include investigating and troubleshooting test case failures or product crashes, tracing root causes to application compatibility issues versus environment issues, and analyzing application and environment problems to work with engineers on resolutions. The engineer will escalate failures to product development teams if issues are reproducible and can be traced to CrowdStrike software, troubleshoot alerts from the lab monitoring system, and remediate outages as needed. They will also remediate endpoint systems to ensure maximum uptime of the test environment, research software needs and test plans, and administer lab machines, including creating and updating golden images of operating system configurations with desktop and server software. Additionally, the engineer may manually run product test cases to perform environment validation.
