Requirements

Relevant publishing experience with a deep understanding of journal development, and strong knowledge of the global publishing industry and related research/policy drivers
Demonstrated acumen in data driven decision making, driving strategic initiative goals including commercial goals by participating in budget planning cycle, and achieving KPIs within the agreed upon budget
Proficiency in enabling winning teams by managing change, facilitating a growth mindset and a psychologically safe environment, and improving leadership based on feedback from EOS and Officevibe
Demonstrated strategic and innovative thinking in developing business strategies and new opportunities
Proven ability to build high-level contacts within the scientific community and translate customer needs into strategic actions
Impactful communication and presentation skills, the ability to influence in a matrix organization and interact effectively with people in all roles at all levels
Ability to think enterprise wide, both at the big picture level and with great attention to detail

Responsibilities

Drive strategies and implementation plans for priority strategic initiatives that fulfil STMJ goals
Lead a team of publishers to ensure specific journal plans fulfil overall PMG goals, the growth and development of each team member, and a psychologically safe and inclusive working environment
Lead strategic planning & portfolio development and financial performance at the PMG level by collaborating with strategy, marketing, society, finance, and sales
Lead PMG relationship building efforts by maintaining a network within the research community, engaging in high-level industry discussions and guiding team members in building their networks and translating customer trends into innovative strategies
Lead daily operations management of the PMG by resolving escalated issues and supporting publishers in engaging with colleagues across STMJ and Operations
