Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma, preferably in industrial technology or engineering, business administration, or management
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment, 3 of which must be in a supervisory role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability to successfully manage a diverse group of employees
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation), analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement, demonstrated team building talent
  • Flexible to work varying shifts and days
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of KRONOS time and attendance system is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Leading a positive change effort to improve performance by motivating, recognizing and inspiring others to be effective and efficient in their activities
  • Actively facilitating and participating in Root Cause Analysis of issues negatively impacting safety/quality/performance, and ensure effective execution and sustainability of corrective actions
  • Championing hazard identification, evaluation and control through the behavior-based safety and risk assessment programs
  • Leading daily safety share, encourage, and recognize all safety behavior and lead by example
  • Increasing employee engagement and improving the culture climate through participation in continuous improvement (get suggestions, report problems, participate in team problem solving sessions)
  • Ensuring employees receive training on processes relating to safety, quality and production; conduct training sessions as needed and track participation; regularly request feedback from trainees to ensure a high-quality experience
  • Providing job training with STD work description, SOP and WI; safety training, STOP, FLRA and all other safety programs
  • Resolving any conflict immediately and assuring that behavior is in line with IKO values; ask for help if needed
  • Ensuring proper documentation and complete reports (compliance, checklists, production reports, spreadsheets, metrics, incident investigations, etc.)
