Requirements

Candidates should have 3-5 years of product design experience, preferably with B2B or technical products, and a strong portfolio showcasing their design process from research to final implementation. Experience designing tools or platforms with complex user workflows and a track record of simplifying complicated processes through thoughtful design are essential. Curiosity and eagerness to learn about technical problem spaces, strong user research skills, the ability to ask probing questions, and comfort with ambiguity are also required. Proficiency in modern design tools like Figma or Sketch, experience with prototyping and interactive flows, strong visual design skills, and understanding of design systems are necessary. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders and the ability to advocate for user needs while balancing technical constraints are crucial. Bonus points include experience designing for developer audiences, familiarity with Git/GitHub, understanding of API concepts, front-end development skills, and animation/micro-interaction design capabilities.

Responsibilities

The Product Designer will own the end-to-end design process from requirements gathering to implementation-ready deliverables and contribute to strategic direction and product vision through user research and market analysis. They will develop a deep understanding of how developers work with APIs to identify opportunities for improving developer productivity. Responsibilities include tackling complex UX, UI, and interaction challenges, creating high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and flows, and designing experiences that balance power and simplicity for technical audiences. The role involves conducting user research with engineering teams, learning about the problem space through customer interviews and usability testing, and translating technical requirements into user-centered design solutions. Additionally, the designer will partner closely with engineering and product teams, participate in design critiques and engineering handoffs, and present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
