Requirements

  • Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree and 12 to 14 years of experience
  • Degree in computer science, EE, physics, mathematics, or related field
  • Experience writing IaC using Terraform (preferably), or OpenTofu, GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins
  • Strong experience with Containerization and Container Orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes both On-prem and Cloud environment
  • Experience in developing backend services using programming language Python or Go
  • Experience using either Argo CD and Flux CD (both used) as well as Helm
  • Significant experience working at core levels of cloud computing in AWS or Azure
  • Oversee the design and optimization of CI/CD pipelines using Yaml (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Establish automated testing, security scanning, and compliance integration into pipelines
  • Define observability strategies using monitoring/logging/alerting platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Datadog, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, etc.)
  • Implement SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, chaos engineering, incident response playbooks)
  • Champion security practices such as secrets management, policy enforcement, vulnerability scanning, and zero-trust architecture
  • Track record of being willing and able to learn new technologies at a rapid pace
  • Experience implementing observability, SRE practices, and security controls
  • Strategic thinker with ability to balance speed, reliability, and cost
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with engineering leaders and executives
  • Ability to mentor engineers and build a high-performance DevOps culture
  • Comfortably influencing architectural decisions and advocating best practices
  • GitLabs and JFrog, Terraform cloud migration experience

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with existing Shared Services Engineering Team during GitLab and JFrog platform redesign to ensure provisioning and management using programmatic Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for end-to-end automation
  • Lead the design and development of self-service Internal Development Platform (IDP) built on Port to provide real-time and always available self-service capabilities for clients to run and manage their development teams
  • Partner with Global engineering teams, architecture and security leaders to establish best practices for CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), Observability and cost optimization
  • Mentor and guide DevOps engineers fostering a culture of automation, innovation and excellence
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and platforms to recommend adoption where beneficial
  • Participate in efforts to design, build, and develop rapid Proof-of-Concept (POC) solutions and services that quickly get added to production service
  • Work closely with global security and identity access team to keep interfaces, access, identity, tokens, secrets, and all other security access and design specifications up-to-date and secure
  • Work with Site Reliability Engineering Team (SRE) to develop full observability, monitoring, and programmatic self-healing for the platform
  • Be engaged, skilled, and eager to work closely with stakeholders and clients to create positive interactions and relationships to drive platform value higher for business needs
  • Be an integral member of technical staff and help develop, test, deploy, and operate services 24x7x365 globally
