Requirements

The Principal Data Architect requires 10+ years of experience in data architecture, with a focus on secure, large-scale, and complex projects, and extensive experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and Redshift. Candidates should also possess experience with other cloud providers like Azure or GCP. A UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance or above is required, or a minimum of 5 years of living and working in the UK.

Responsibilities

This role involves engaging with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide strategic guidance, leading the design and implementation of secure and scalable data architectures on AWS and other cloud platforms, utilising experience with data modelling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and distributed systems. The Principal Data Architect will also provide technical leadership to teams, utilise Apache Flink and other streaming technologies, ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, support sales teams with technical advice, and act as an escalation point for data breaches. They will monitor technical deliverables, manage design divergences, and stay updated on advancements in cloud technologies and data architecture.
