Strong knowledge of data management, modeling, security implementation, analytical problem-solving, networking, business acumen, resource management, communication, leadership, adaptability, and continuous learning are also essential. A minimum of 8 years of experience leading architectural design and implementation of enterprise-scale systems, preferably in the federal healthcare domain, and strong knowledge of compliance frameworks are desired.
The Chief Architect will architect and lead the development of a robust and compliant Hospital Quality Reporting (HQR) system for CMS, guiding engineering teams in building resilient FHIR API architectures that adhere to federal standards. Responsibilities include ensuring high availability, secure data backups, and disaster recovery strategies, driving the adoption of automated testing, continuous integration, and security-first DevOps practices, and designing high-throughput, scalable architectures for processing large volumes of health data in real time. The architect will collaborate with CMS stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align systems with compliance goals and minimize developer burden, while staying current with emerging technologies and industry standards to future-proof the architecture.
