Candidates should possess 8+ years of experience in analytics or data science roles with a focus on product/content insights, ideally in edtech or SaaS, and advanced SQL skills along with experience with data warehouses such as Athena, Presto, or Redshift. Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, machine learning, and automation is required, alongside experience with dashboards and visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI, and a solid understanding of experimentation, A/B testing, and causal inference frameworks. Proven ability to lead high-impact analytics projects independently and influence stakeholders is also necessary.
The Principal Data Analyst will report to the Director of Data and lead high-impact analyses of Udacity’s curriculum and learner behavior to optimize content strategy, ensure skills alignment with industry needs, and drive measurable outcomes for learners and enterprise clients. They will develop a strategic analytics roadmap for Udacity’s content organization, aligning insights with learning, product, and business goals, and partner with senior stakeholders to define and monitor KPIs. The role involves centralizing and synthesizing learner feedback, CX signals, and performance data to identify content pain points, and developing scalable methods to assess content effectiveness. Furthermore, the analyst will contribute to building AI-powered systems for feedback classification, act as a thought partner to leaders across Content and Product, and lead cross-functional analytics initiatives while mentoring peers and junior analysts to elevate data maturity across the organization.
