Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, data management, or related roles
  • At least 3 years in a Principal position
  • Extensive knowledge of data modeling, data governance, database design, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data technologies (e.g., Spark, relational and NoSQL databases)
  • Proficiency with data architecture tools and platforms (e.g., ERwin, Kafka, Redis) and familiarity with cloud data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset
  • A strategic mindset considering the macro while working on the micro
  • A passion for technology and an interest in learning and evolving as AI continues to dominate strategic thinking
  • Experience in performing Buy vs. Build analysis
  • Experience in architecture design reviews
  • Ability to establish a single source of truth for various data domains
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter

  • Lead the data strategy for Aetna’s Medicare technology line of business
  • Architect and design data pipelines
  • Align with data governance and AI initiatives
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Translate business needs into effective data solutions
  • Drive modernization opportunities for PBM technology
  • Lead and drive proofs-of-concept and technology deep-dives
  • Recommend or assess opportunities to drive cost efficiencies
  • Identify gaps and recommend design changes in architecture design reviews
  • Ensure the availability of clean, accurate, and timely data for Medicare operational systems
