Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree with 15 years of experience or a Master's degree with 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 10 years in design and/or design automation. Required skills include experience with Physical Verification Tools (DRC/LVS/Extraction tools), proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Cadence Skill, Perl, Python, Unix shell, C, C++, and web development, and experience supporting Linux operating systems and CMOS silicon processes. Familiarity with Cadence Analog tools (Virtuoso, Spectre, ADE), Cadence PCell development, Synopsys Digital tools (Fusion Compiler, PrimeLib), Synopsys library characterization tools, Electromigration (EMIR) analysis tools, Built-in Self-Test (BiST) generation tools, administering FlexLM licenses, version control systems (Subversion, Git), EDA Design Management systems, Cadence Assura, PVS, Quantus, or Pegasus, Siemens Calibre tools, Red Hat Linux system administration, and infrastructure-as-code for system setup is also necessary.
The Principal CAD Engineer will develop process development kit elements including DRC, LVS, and Extraction rule decks, model files, custom parameterized cells, and timing files. They will set up and configure EDA tools for design teams, specify workstation and server systems, develop Linux OS installation and maintenance scripts, and administer user accounts. Responsibilities also include supporting team members on the Linux Operating System, assisting circuit and layout designers with DRC, LVS, and Extraction tools, and supporting analog and digital design flows and tools from project setup through tape out. Additionally, the role involves working with static timing tools and library characterization tools, debugging design tasks, automating design tasks, and acting as a liaison between designers and tool vendors.
