Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years pharmacy technician experience; retail setting preferred
  • Experience as a trainer or in a lead role within a pharmacy setting preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, organization, prioritization, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and data
  • Ability to audit and review records and processes and provide analytical reporting
  • Ability to analyze Pharmacy information to identify trends
  • Knowledge and ability to train new and existing pharmacy personnel on all aspects of pharmacy procedures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and pharmacy regulations and guidelines
  • Proficient in MS Office Excel and Word
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently

Responsibilities

  • Manage pricing, analyze usage trends, and optimize purchasing decisions to support retail pharmacy operations
  • Generate various reports (i.e. store sales, prescription drug utilization, inventory, etc.) and review with pharmacy procurement team to assist stores with achieving defined business goals
  • Respond to store issues as needed in relation to inventory, purchasing, purchase order groups, etc
  • Assist the stores in ordering from primary, secondary, and tertiary suppliers as needed
  • Work with suppliers and service providers to resolve store issues and optimize inventory or process efficiencies
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, new generic launches, upcoming WAC decreases, new product launches, RFPs, etc
  • Create, implement, or participate in initiatives to improve store purchase and inventory compliance
  • Assist stores with compliance to Pharmacy State and Federal regulatory guidelines as well as professional, management and business policies set forth by the Company
  • Assist with on-site training of pharmacy personnel on pharmacy computer system(s) and processes which may include prescription processing, workflow, ordering and receiving, inventory management, new equipment and miscellaneous pharmacy procedures to improve customer service levels and overall pharmacy quality
  • Assist in the implementation of new programs and procedures; follow-up on rollout, respond to questions and ensure compliance of new programs on procedures as assigned
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best Pharmacy practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
