Requirements

Act as a role model demonstrating genuine care and setting standards for the pharmacy team
Lead and develop a pharmacy team, including onboarding new hires and recognizing success
Exhibit best practices when working the bench, including patient counseling and compliance with legal/regulatory guidelines
Hold pharmacy licensure (implied for role)
Ability to oversee staff pharmacists and district support pharmacists, manage performance, deliver reviews, and close gaps

Responsibilities

Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, providing coaching and follow-up to strengthen performance measures
Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing adherence to workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach team to do the same
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize
Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching best practices, especially for cold chain products
Conduct onboarding and training for new Technicians and Pharmacists on CVS workflow, ensuring timely completion of training/licensure
Ensure full compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and escalate issues as needed
Partner with Store Manager to build and maintain a talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues for pharmacy work
Oversee Staff Pharmacists and DPSs (where applicable), using observation, feedback, and validation for performance management
