Requirements

  • Graduate from pharmacy school within 120 days (Graduate Pharmacy Intern)
  • Ability to apply didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world pharmacy practice
  • Work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader
  • Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Comply with state regulations (e.g., for taking telephonic prescriptions or clarifying with prescribers)
  • Demonstrate empathy, genuine care, and effective communication in customer and colleague interactions
  • Maintain high self-awareness for coaching, training, and mentoring pharmacy team members

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth pharmacy operations, prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service exceeding patient expectations
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, creating personalized moments, offering immunizations/services, and solving/escalating patient problems
  • Offer counseling, field medical questions, and solicit patient medical history under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify or facilitate changes, where allowed by state regulation
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices
  • Complete basic inventory activities (e.g., putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories), as permitted by law and directed by leadership
  • Deepen understanding of patient safety, error prevention, quality assurance, drug utilization review (DUR), corresponding responsibility, and red flag detection
  • Operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent SOP application, best practices, and contribution to a safe, inclusive culture
  • Take on increasing accountability for pharmacy management, oversight, and operations as tenure and readiness increase
