Position Overview

Deel is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist with expertise in Mexican Payroll to join our growing team. As an all-in-one payroll and HR platform for global teams, Deel is transforming how global talent connects with world-class companies. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of payroll for multiple clients and states within Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for Mexico, ensuring accuracy for multi-client and multi-state operations.
  • Prepare and process a variety of journal entries, verifying data integrity.
  • Process payroll for stock options, expatriates, sales commissions, awards, and other incentives.
  • Apply tax knowledge for IMSS, ISN, and ISR.
  • Lead day-to-day activities as an expert for various clients in the local Mexican market.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Manage and maintain Payroll Calendars.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Perform administrative duties as required.
  • Adhere to escalation matrix and follow-up procedures.
  • Maintain internal reporting requirements, updating metrics and publishing them according to schedules and on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Represent the company's best interests at all times.
  • Perform Management Reporting & Analysis.

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience.
  • Proficiency in Mexican Payroll knowledge and skills is a distinct advantage.
  • Hard understanding of Mexico Taxes.
  • Ability to analyze tax issues, related facts, and circumstances, and recommend solutions.
  • Knowledge of the Annual process and Reports.
  • Knowledge of Tax software (Authorities' portals, SUA, IDSE, etc.).

Skills

  • English Fluency is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to operate in a structured and organized manner.
  • Aptitude for analytical thinking in creating solutions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to achieve preset goals.
  • Good organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills, including the ability to learn quickly.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft® Word and Excel.
