Requirements

The Manager, Payroll requires 7+ years of experience in payroll administration, including 3+ years of experience managing a payroll team, experience with SOX compliance, 2+ years of experience with ADP Workforce Now, and preferred experience with Workday. Public company experience and proficiency with Google Sheets are also required, along with a detail-oriented approach and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

The Manager, Payroll will lead and manage a direct report team, ensure timely and accurate processing of US and Canadian payrolls, own the relationship with PeopleOps, serve as a subject matter expert for payroll implementation projects, ensure compliance with local compensation and tax regulations, handle data integration between personnel records and payroll systems, stay updated on payroll tax laws, work closely with GitLab contributors and the People Ops team, manage internal and external audits related to payroll, develop and implement processes to streamline payroll workflow, and be the primary contact point for payroll matters.
