Requirements
Candidates should possess strong legislation expertise in the Eastern European region, experience in a senior payroll role within an in-house payroll environment processing payroll or being in a payroll audit, compliance role, and an understanding of the approach taken by local authorities, along with a proven track record of communicating with authorities to resolve matters. They should have exposure to local authority investigations and audits, experience in making recommendations for process improvements, proficiency in data manipulation (e.g., SQL, Excel), excellent time management and organizational skills, and an analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities. Fluency in English and the local language is required, and experience working remotely is considered a plus.
Responsibilities
The Payroll Risk & Compliance Expert will act as a true local employment legislation and tax expert for the Eastern European region, conducting comprehensive risk reviews of payroll files to verify accuracy and compliance with all governmental wage tax laws and social security requirements, identifying and rectifying discrepancies, preparing detailed audit findings reports, maintaining strong records of audits, ensuring the correctness of payroll processes, monitoring the regulatory climate, providing support and training on compliance matters, maintaining country knowledge pages, and working with internal teams to improve the platform and complete UAT testing. They will also be responsible for overall compliance and reporting to the Manager of Payroll Compliance and Audit, working with Tax, Legal, and Payroll.
