Requirements

Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience in a technical trainer, sales engineer, or professional services consultant role. Expertise in Apache Kafka and familiarity with Confluent products, including core concepts like producers, consumers, Kafka Streams, and connectors, is required. Proven experience delivering technical training or presentations to diverse audiences, strong understanding of distributed systems, real-time data streaming, and event-driven architectures are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience designing strategic training plans, proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Java), familiarity with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), experience with virtual classroom tools like Zoom, and the ability to travel approximately 25% of the time are also necessary. Previous experience working with GSIs and RSIs is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Partner Technical Trainer will conduct high-quality instructor-led training sessions, both virtual and in-person, and facilitate hands-on labs to enhance the EMEA GSI talent pool and certifications. They will organize and deliver technical content focused on Kafka fundamentals, Confluent Cloud, and Confluent Platform, including real-world applications, advanced configurations, and performance optimization. The role involves fostering strong GSI partner relationships, prioritizing impactful training, aligning programs with client needs, and shaping a strategic training plan. Responsibilities also include collecting feedback to improve course materials, collaborating with the curriculum development team to update content, staying current with Kafka and Confluent product updates, and contributing to internal knowledge bases. The trainer will collaborate with internal teams like Product, Engineering, and Partner Solutions Architects, and represent Confluent at partner training events, technical workshops, and conferences across EMEA.
