Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Lead Operators, Operators and/or General Laborers to ensure efficient landfill operation
  • Ensure adherence to fill sequencing plans, achievement of density goals, and operation consistent with applicable permits
  • Work with Operations Manager and General Manager to implement tactical initiatives for functional excellence and budget achievement
  • Ensure adherence to all accident prevention programs and lead operations to comply with safety, environmental, operating, regulatory, accounting, ethics, and other standards
  • Execute and deliver Safety, Customer Experience, and Efficiency while supporting employee engagement culture
  • Understand and provide leadership to achieve and communicate safety goals and objectives
  • Work to remove unsafe conditions or situations from or related to the landfill
  • Partner with maintenance department to ensure equipment remains in working order and complies with safety standards
  • Oversee effective safety and accident prevention programs to prevent accidents and injuries; ensure safe and productive work environment; implement and maintain loss control and safety program
  • Engage employees in active participation to instill a culture of safety through personal commitment and outreach
  • Provide service to customers that meets or exceeds expectations for the entire customer experience
  • Resolve unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes with timely communications to stakeholders
  • Interact with customers to solve issues and improve overall customer experience
  • Serve as a positive representative of the Company to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Establish productivity goals; ensure adherence to operating standards; manage labor hours and disposal expenses per plans
  • Execute operational plans to achieve or exceed division’s budgeted goals
  • Understand, support, and execute service delivery while supporting maintenance and operational role in fleet quality and maintenance
  • Create a collaborative, communicative team environment and drive employee engagement
  • Build and develop talent on the team, understand career goals, and provide coaching for advancement
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed or assigned
