Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a technician background dealing with network/computer troubleshooting or installation, a good driving record, willingness to travel on short notice, the ability to work well with hand tools, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, demonstrated proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs, a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing demeanor, the ability to learn and retain new information and concepts quickly, the ability to follow directions and strong follow up, proven good judgment and proactive decision-making skills, and the ability to adapt to change.
The Onsite Installer will complete full integration of Point-of-Sale systems and peripherals at merchant locations, coordinating with merchants and an Installation Coordinator to ensure all requirements are met. They will perform site surveys and network troubleshooting, repair or replace network cabling, test hardware, software, and credit card processing, provide documentation and photos of work performed, train clients on POS ecosystems, acquire an in-depth understanding of the merchant processing industry, track expenses and submit monthly expense reports, provide installation and feedback on new software/hardware during beta testing, manage inventory of equipment and requisition, and participate in recurring training of the Shift4 product suite. Additionally, they are expected to work flexible hours including on call, early mornings, late nights, and weekends, practice safe driving habits, and have reliable transportation, communicating effectively via phone, emails, and work orders, and potentially travel for extended periods outside of their local area.
